FAQ
Questions before getting started.
Clear answers about pricing, timelines, ownership, revisions, functionality, maintenance, and what to expect from a Northbound project.
Project basics
Website projects generally begin at $750. Final pricing depends on the size of the website, required functionality, integrations, and overall project scope.
Before work begins, the project is defined and a detailed quote is provided so the agreed scope and price are clear.
The exact scope depends on the project, but a standard website may include responsive design, development, mobile optimization, clear page structure, contact or inquiry forms, performance-focused implementation, technical SEO foundations, and production deployment.
Anything outside the agreed scope is discussed before additional work is added.
The timeline depends on the size of the website, required functionality, how quickly content and feedback are provided, and the overall complexity of the project.
A straightforward business website can usually move much faster than a project involving booking systems, payments, databases, dashboards, or third-party integrations.
The expected timeline is discussed before the project begins.
No. A general idea of what your business needs and what you want the website to accomplish is enough to start.
During the project discussion, we can define the structure, functionality, priorities, and technical requirements together.
Build & functionality
Yes. Northbound can redesign an existing website when the current site no longer reflects the business, works poorly on modern devices, has an unclear structure, or needs stronger functionality.
Depending on the project, useful existing content may be retained while the design, structure, and implementation are rebuilt.
Yes. Northbound can build more advanced website functionality when the project requires it.
This can include booking systems, payments, e-commerce, secure staff access, dashboards, database-backed features, custom forms and workflows, and selected third-party integrations.
Advanced functionality is scoped individually because requirements can vary significantly between businesses.
Revisions are based on the agreed project scope and review process.
You will receive a complete project preview and have the opportunity to provide final feedback before approval.
Requests that substantially change the original scope may require a revised quote or additional project fee before the extra work begins.
Ownership & launch
After the project has been fully paid for, the client receives the completed website and the rights described in the project agreement.
Client-owned assets such as domains should remain under the client's ownership whenever possible.
Third-party software, fonts, services, plugins, platforms, or licensed assets remain subject to their own terms.
No.
If you already own a domain, it can normally be connected to the completed website.
If you do not have one yet, Northbound can provide guidance on what needs to be set up.
The final hosting and domain setup depends on the requirements of the project.
Northbound does not currently require an upfront deposit for standard website projects.
The agreed website is built and presented for final review.
After the project is accepted, the final invoice is issued.
Once payment is received, the website is connected to the live domain and publicly launched.
Any different payment arrangement would be clearly stated in the project quote or agreement.
After launch, the completed website remains available to the client according to the project agreement.
If ongoing updates, monitoring, technical maintenance, or other continued support are needed, Northbound can provide a separate maintenance arrangement.
Maintenance is not automatically included with every website project unless specifically stated.
Working with Northbound
Yes.
Northbound can provide ongoing website maintenance separately from the original website project.
Maintenance may include agreed updates, monitoring, technical support, and other recurring services depending on the selected plan.
The exact maintenance scope and price are provided separately.
Usually, the starting point is information about your business, the purpose of the website, your services or products, existing branding, current website if applicable, and any functionality you know you need.
Additional items such as photography, written content, domain access, or third-party account access may be requested depending on the project.
Northbound will review the information you provide and determine whether the project appears to be a good fit.
If it makes sense to continue, the next step is a conversation about the website, required functionality, priorities, timeline, and scope.
Once the project is clearly defined, a detailed quote can be prepared.
